Authors: SAURABH G. SADEKAR
Abstract: The introduction of effective highly active antiretroviral therapy(HAART) in
the mid 1990s led to a marked reduction in the morbidity and mortality of HIV
infection. Side effects of HAART such as dyslipidemia were soon described after its
introduction. It becomes very important to identify dyslipidemia in HIV patients on
antiretroviral therapy for the early detection and prevention of premature coronary
vascular events in such patients.

Abstract: Ventilation associated pneumonia (VAP) is a form of nosocomial pneumonia that
occurs in patients receiving mechanical ventilation for more than 48 hours. This study is
conducted to find incidence, common organism causing it, common culture sensitive
antibiotic and clinical profile of VAP patients in Shri B.M. Patil Medical College

Abstract: Nicotine, which is the main component of tobacco, causes sudden coronary
death. It also has the propensity to provoke ventricular arrhythmias. 12-lead
electrocardiogram (ECG) is a routine, inexpensive tool for assessment of
cardiovascular disease and its risk in both clinical and research settings, and ECG
changes powerfully predict future cardiovascular events
