dc.description.abstract Anthropometric study on growth of four somatometric traits was carried out by cross sectional study method in 456 school going male children of north interior part of Bijapur district, aged between 08-15 years. The collected data was statically analyzed and these values are presented in tabular form. When the result of present study was compared with similar studies done in Indian and abroad certain salient features were noted. The length measurements of the body showed different d types of growth spurts one in late childhood (09 - 10 years) and another during adolescence between (14 - 15 years). Biacromial breadth showed only one growth spurt. Karnataka boys are found to be shorter in all these measurements when compared to north Indian and British children. en_US
